PÃÂÅ¡Å¥ala - «musket, fife") - manual short-barreled semi-automatic or non-automatic (less automatic) firearms. Usually designed to fire at short range (up to 25-50 meters), both with one hand, and with the two. It can be used both for attack and for protection. The first guns were smoothbore and singly. Modern, as a rule, are threaded and have a bulk store, which is located usually in the arm and can accommodate 7 or less (the Colt M1911) to 17 or more (Beretta Px4 Storm, APB) rounds. First there were guns in the XV century. They were fitted on a wooden block with a short barrel wick castle. Leonardo da Vinci invented the wheel lock for the gun (the factory key) - the only thing his invention, which was recognized during his lifetime. Guns of the time were quite different on the device and its intended purpose. Short guns (Puffer) were used to fire at close range. Long cavalry pistols had enough killing power at a distance of 30-40 meters over the unprotected goal. Heavy armor (such as Maximilian), however, they rarely break through even when fired at close range and velocity rarely exceed 150-160 m / s (in pocket "Puffer" could be less than 100 m / s). Weapon - the general name of devices, objects and tools, structurally designed for killing or rendering harmless of people and animals, and / or disabling equipment and facilities of the parties, wittingly or unwittingly involved in any conflict. After the invention of gunpowder became widely used artillery and rockets, and small arms. Before the invention of the same mass and the introduction of the latter, the basis of army troops were armed with a cold hand and thrown weapons. To arms include devices and items physically designed to hit a live target, signaling, subject to attack or defense. Also - a set of tools for hunting and warfare. In a figurative sense weapons - some means to fight with anyone and anything to achieve their goals.
